Can you believe that the Classic Minis dawned the honor of “Car of the Century” in the Autocar magazine in 1995? Than one year later this gallant, prestigious little auto was give the awesome title of “Number One Classic Car of all time” (Classic & Sports Car Magazine.) The Mini was voted second place via a poll for “Global Car of the Century and went on winning “The European Car of the Century by an Internet Poll.

Although the Mini was chugging along just fine and enjoying the applause of their many fans, along came the new “Boy” in town (The BMW MINI or New MINI) take notice that MINI is all in caps compared to the older Mini.

Many of the died in the wool Mini enthusiasts immediately took a dislike to the New MINI, because of an increase in wide, weight and the fact that the Classic Mini was performing well, a delight to drive and these radical changes was like “Down With the Old” and “Up With the New.” Some new MINI owners were not always welcome at the old Mini events and festivities, but the New MINI is proving to hold it’s own in production and customer satisfaction.

If you’re a first time buyer of the Classic Mini, you really have two great options. There are many good used Minis online, from private individuals or in the car magazines and if it’s new you must have that’s not a problem – they’re everywhere, they’re everywhere….
