The “Who’s Who” in the world of Mini autos is appearing to be the “New MINI” sometimes referred to as the BMW MINI. Some jumped and screamed saying this new MINI wasn’t necessary and plum didn’t like the idea of a change. But, it’s awesome efficiency and quicker than “scat” turning ability has won the hearts of many auto owners throughout the World.

In 2001, four models were manufactured, which means there’s something for everyone if you love Classic Minis. The MINI One D uses the Toyota diesel engine and proves to be a real heart stopper. Around 50 % of MINIS in Australia are the Cooper S models and MINI Cooper and MINI Cooper S won the North American Car of the year in 2003.

Around 2004, BMW/MINI had a premier showing in the form of a convertible, although not sold in the US at the time – many back orders were placed from the American Mini fans.

Some scuttlebutt in 2008, rumor says that GM just may have a little competitive spirit going and thinking of giving the MINI Cooper a run for it’s money – “Good Luck to GM, because the MINI Cooper ain’t just any ole car.”

Ford remains rather conservative and instead of dreaming “Mini, “ they’re thinking of reducing or maybe loosing some of the power in their existing gas-guzzlers.

Keep your eye on the MINI Clubman and the MINI Cooper Clubman – they just may be touted as the Who’s Who in “MINIS.” Don’t forget to take more than a peek at the 2007 MINI Cooper, if you’re itching for a wee auto with style, class and capabilities that are beyond your wildest dreams.
